The road so far
Before it was
a website,
it was a road.
Sedona · Mexico · Carmel · Venice Beach
Start With I Love You didn't begin as a campaign. It began as a practice that followed people across the country — through retreats, pop-ups, and two 40-day runs between Venice Fun House and the Ascension pop-up on the most influential stretch of coast in America. Each place taught the next. This is the path here.
Sedona
The origin
Where the practice was first spoken into the work — red rock, vortexes, and the retreat where 'start with I love you' stopped being a phrase and became a way through.
Mexico
The deepening
South of the border, the work went deeper — plant, body, heart, and the long quiet of retreat. What began in the desert found its roots in the soil.
Carmel
The refinement
Coastal California, where the framework found its language. The practice met the ocean, and the ocean gave it back a clearer shape.
Venice Beach
The public door
Two 40-day pop-ups — Venice Fun House and the Ascension pop-up — on one of the most influential stretches of coast in the country. Where the practice left the retreat and met the street — shirts, songs, strangers, and the van.
Billy Loves
Willie.
Billy Loves Willie is a 40-day campaign to save hemp — reaching people all around the USA. It starts close to home: Craig lives in Asheville, North Carolina, where cannabis is already illegal but hemp has been legal.
Now an awful new law is set to shut all of this down. We're here to wake people up to it. These things will come back — however the laws allow. But while it's still holy legal, let's gather.
It all happens in one place: the Elk Horn Lounge at Elkhorn Canna Co., 278 Haywood Rd, Asheville, NC. Nov 1 – Dec 11, 2026. Select dates. 21+.
I put up a billboard. What will you do? Make a poster. Host a conversation. Share your story. Put something in a shop window. Contact your representatives. You don't have to organize a revival — just do one thing in your city. Start at billyloveswillie.com.
